Congressional Pro Choice Leaders Condemn the Trump Administration's Continued Attacks on Reproductive Health

Washington, D.C. –Congresswomen Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Diana DeGette (D-CO) released the following statement after Planned Parenthood exited the Title X family planning program as a result of the Trump Administration's continued attacks on reproductive health:

"Make no mistake: the Trump Administration's continued attacks on reproductive and abortion rights will have devastating consequences for the health of millions of low-income families across the country. The Title X program was created to allow millions of women and families access to basic family planning services, and Trump's Domestic Gag Rule sabotages that.

"Planned Parenthood is one of our most trusted health care providers, and this blatant attack is designed to keep them from serving their patients. Forcing trusted providers out of the program puts access to basic family planning services out of reach for millions and will have devastating consequences for families across the country.

"Everyone deserves the right to make their own health care decisions, and we will keep fighting against the Trump Administration's efforts to undermine that right."
